This company was in the process of updating and automating its main fulfillment center. Prior to this modernization initiative at the center, all newly hired employees would simply shadow another employee to learn their job. This led to a wide range of poor performance issues amongst employees. For this particular project, we created a new hire onboarding program. We created a walking tour of the facility, complete with teaching points at each stopping area. We also created basic skill level training for each area of the center. We implemented the training with new facility trainers shadowing. Then we supervised and coached the new trainers as they took over the management of the program.
